During a job interview with a U.S. company is in not advised that you ask about family, religion and politics. The theory is this could open up and area of contention and potential make the company vulnerable to a discrimination lawsuit. In stead of asking about family it is permissible to ask “Do you have any pets?” This will inevitably lead to a discussion of spouse home and kids.
